Demonstration Farms
We have currently set-up 52 demonstration farms in Gombe State. The demonstration farms are located in the following Local Government Areas - Akko, Gombe, Dukku, Yamaltu-Deba, Billiri, Kaltungo and Shongom Local Government Areas. More will be added in the coming weeks. The demo farms are to 1) showcase the use of technology-based extension advisory services, 2) prove the efficacy of organic and climate-friendly inputs and provide templates for climate friendly agricultural practices and post-harvest management. ​The farmers have cultivated maize, rice and soybeans. Each week we shall showcase one farm for each of the crops mentioned above. For the week of 17th - 23rd August we are featuring the following farm:
Our 2025 Demonstration Farmers
I cultivated maize (corn) on my farm. The farm was treated with Albit Organic Fertilizer before planting. I have applied Power NPK-15-15-15 Fertilizer and then MIK NPK 20-10-10. The farm is doing well. But the EOS Crop Monitoring has detected the risks of Norther corn leaf blight, Leaf Blight and Western Corn (Maize) Rootworm to the farm.
